The Sub

          To begin, the book, The Sub, was about two boys who switched identities for a few days because their elementary school teacher was absent. The main character's name is James and he switched identities with his best friend Ray. Ray is the "class clown" of James' class. All the other students know that Ray and James switched places but the sub doesn't. Ray embarrasses and gets in trouble with James' name. James accidentally gets Ray in trouble on the same day and Ray thinks he did it on purpose so Ray gets him back. This made the two's bond sever a little. Towards the end of the book the two friends confess to the sub that they were fooling around. The theme of the book is that friendship is more important than attention.
